The X Prize Foundation

Naveen Jain is a member of the Vision Circle of the X Prize Foundation, a Champion of Innovation, and co-Chair of the X Prize Education & Global Development Advisory Group. The X Prize Foundation an educational nonprofit institute widely recognized as a leader in fostering innovation through competition.

To date, the Foundation has launched the $10 million Ansari X Prize for suborbital spaceflight; the $10 million Archon X Prize for Genomics; the $30 million Google Lunar X Prize and the $10 million Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize.

As co-Chair of the Education and Development group, Mr. Jain’s vision is to create new competitions structured around sustainable entrepreneurial solutions to global poverty. The goal will be to find methods that catalyze profit-generating firms both in terms of financial as well as human development metrics to address the global development challenges in agriculture, capital, education, health, and water. Ultimately the purpose of such competition is to highlight and support the most scalable enterprises that create wealth and uplift the largest number of stakeholders from poverty.
